This two-day course, is perfect for anyone who needs a refresher on how to assist yoga poses and learn some new tricks! Or for those of you who are qualified to teach yoga but are not yet trained to assist yoga poses.

The fundamentals of Yin Yoga including:

  • The History of Yin
  • The Meaning of Yin (Physical, non-physical & the benefits)
  • An overview of the 3 Yin Tattvas
  • Yin & Yang
  • An Introduction to the meridians & origins of Yin in TCM
  • Five Element Theory
  • The Vagus Nerve & Stimulating Chi

We will also explore Yin poses and modifications, including the benefits of Rebound and when to include it. The meridians will be explained, looking in detail at the Kidney & Bladder, Liver & Gallbladder, Stomach & Spleen, Heart & Small Intestine, Lunge & Large Intestine, Peridcardium & Triple Heater, Governor & Conception Vessels. We include anatomy of yoga, include compression & tension, proportion & orientation, fascia in the context of yin. We share detailed teaching skills, both for teaching others, or for a home practice, including example class sequences. And, to ensure students have a good understanding of the wider context of Yoga, we visit the eight limbed path, and its application to Yin.
